Once Again into the Fray

So Josh and I just got back from seeing The Grey with Liam Neeson. Very good movie if you like suspenseful, thriller-types! And wolves, lots of wolves. Plus, I left with a very Carpe Diem-esque feeling.

I'm also at the end of my week off from work. I thought I would have until Monday off, but just found out today that I go back Sunday, so I need to really live it up tomorrow seeing as it's my last day of freedom. Josh and I will be road-tripping to Berryville, AR to see his Dad. Then it's back to work and only a couple weeks until my best friend Klaire and I go to see Lucero at George's! Definitely give them a listen or two sometime.

I also just found out Fuel will be in Fayetteville on the 13th, next Monday! They kinda dropped off the radar for a couple years, but they have recently been "re-Fueled" and reunited with the original singer Brett Scallions. I feel very lucky to live in a town where you can see great bands at affordable prices. George's Majestic Lounge is an incredible venue where both well-known and not-so-well-known bands play in a casual, laid back setting with tickets around twenty bucks. I love music and I love Fayetteville.

And One.

Hi, I'm Brittany.

Here I am. In order to keep myself occupied and my mind stimulated, I am trying to start another blog. I have tried and failed at starting and keeping up with three other blogs, and this is my newest effort. I have discovered this about myself: It is very difficult for me to finish any hobby that I begin. I think I tend to get bored easily or my attention becomes distracted by some shiny, bigger, and better thing. Right now, I'm saving up for a shiny new camera. This time, this time, this time; I am bound and determined to actually start a good thing and see it through.

Let me tell you a little about myself via words and photos. I am a recent graduate from U of A. (I don't actually have the piece of paper yet, because of my severe procrastination and inability to transfer my 3 credits from an online class to the registrar). But for now, I have a Bachelor's in English and am here in the beautiful city of Fayetteville, AR.
When I'm not in He-- I mean working at Kohl's, I am usually watching Sex and the City, playing Bejewled on my phone, and spending time with my ferocious pitbull, Apollo and my boyfriend, Joshua.
I also love music. VERY much. I played flute and piccolo all through high school and for two years at U of A. I would much rather listen to Pandora and dance around then watch tv. An interesting fact about myself: I love music so much (even some of the crappy, poppy sounds you hear on the radio) that I check billboard.com every day to see which songs, albums, and artists are at the top of the charts. It just interests me. I also really enjoy dancing, as you can tell from my blog title. I think I am pretty much slow dancing through life right now, not really getting a firm grasp on any one thing, just floating around until something holds me down. In comparison with dancing, I'm almost always singing something. My coworkers probably get tired of hearing me singing and humming every song (since they have about 40 songs on rotation, I know every word).
I think this new beginning, new year, new blog, will be good for me. I have been writing (stores, poems, random journal entries) since I was in sixth grade, so I know I need to be writing again. My current job has pulled me from creative thinking and writing, so this will push me to churn out some type of creative, unique thought.
